Istria by Bike

From the north to the south, from the eastern to the western Istrian coast, on nearly 3,000 kilometres spread around hundred already plotted bike trails.

Central Istria

CENTRAL ISTRIA has seven marked bike trails “circling” around Pazin-Pisino, the capital of Istria. They are 230 kilometres long and each of them is very special and unique. Those fond of biking have the opportunity of seeing old medieval small towns with typical bell towers, isolated villages with but a few taverns, with numerous very old carvings and even older living legends told by the oldest town inhabitants. It seems as if time stopped in these villages, as if some immemorial times are still alive.

Cycling race Parenzana

Cycling Race OL ISTRIA MTB - Cannondale Parenzana attracts many local and foreign European cyclists. Parenzana represents the largest, international cycling event in Istria, which, in late September, is attended by all the cycling fans - whether You are road cycling or MTB fan. This three-day event combines the competitive MTB race, in which regularly perform over 400 competitors but along with which is taking place the most popular by the number of competitors, recreational cycling race for all age groups, families, tourists, children ... in which every year more and more cyclists are taking part!

Nature and adventure enthusiasts will certainly passionately ride and discover the beauties of natural and historical monuments of this unique Mediterranean pearl.

Istria is famous for tennis: there are some 430 clay courts for playing tennis throughout the year. The Istrian town of Umag-Umago hosts the famous ATP Tour Croatia Open, and the list of well-known tennis stars that have already participated at the ATP Tour includes Goran Ivanišević, Thomas Muster, Andrej Medvedev, Magnus Gustafsson, Carlos Moya, Sergi Bruguera, Felix Mantilla, Emilio and Javier Sanchez ...

Golf

Did you know that golf is one of the oldest sports in history? The beginnings of golf were mentioned in Scotland, during the 14th century and it has been assumed that the first players were shepherds who guarded on sheep at a spacious Scottish pastures. As a hole they used the rabbit hole, and sticks were made from wood.

Beaches


Whether you choose hidden coves with white pebbles, small or larger bays, or rocky sun drenched fragrant reefs, the pure and intact Istrian beaches are true wonders of nature. Though it has always been easier to capture them in paintings than describe them in words, you just have to think about them and the sight will emerge before your eyes.

Beach Lanterna

The beach is located in the tourist zone in which there are situated tourist resort and hotels, and you can reach it by walking paths through a lovely wood where you can find shelter from the sun.

Maslinica Beach

Rabac is a famous tourist resting place with a great tourist offer and beautiful pebbly beaches. The beach Maslinica is a 500 meter long pebbly beach where you can have fun with many different water sports, and for its qualities it is awarded with a Blue flag. It is surrounded by many hotels and magnificent Mediterranean forest.

Rovinj

Beach Lone Bay

Lone Bay is a part of the protected Zlatni Rt (Golden Cape) park forest and has one of the most visited beaches in Rovinj-Rovigno. The beach is pebbly and arranged to attract many swimmers and families with small kids. Beside the main beach, you can find other smaller rocky beaches for all those who like privacy.

Beach Bay Veštar

Veštar Bay is located on the Rovinj's coast, only 5 kilometers away from the town center. In the bay dominates a beautiful pebbly beach which spreads for 700 meters along the coast. The beach is awarded with a Blue flag because of its beauties and quality, as well as because of its clean sea.

Brulo beach

The Brulo beach is a partly rocky, partly built resort beach, situated in the tourist resort Brulo, on the southern edge of the city of Porec.

Bellevue Beach

The Bellevue beach is a 250 m long, mostly rocky beach, levelled with stone slabs. The beach is located in the Blue lagoon, in the south-western part of the Brulo peninsula, about 2 km from the city of Porec.
